Andrew Fenton, MD, FACEP

Dr. Andrew Fenton is a board-certified emergency physician at Napa Valley Emergency Medical Group with advanced training in the resuscitation and stabilization of the critically ill or injured patient. After graduating with honors from medical school, he completed his residency training at a Level 1 trauma center in Sacramento. He then completed a fellowship in health policy and has been shaping health care legislation and reforms at the state and local level. During his fellowship he joined the medical staff at the Queen of the Valley Medical Center and has been practicing here since 2007. He recently served as the president of the California Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians representing the voice of 3,000 emergency physicians in the state. He is the Vice-Chair of the Department of Emergency/Family Medicine at Queen of the Valley and serves on the medical executive committee, the credentials committee, and the bioethics committee. He previously received an award for "Justice" from Queen of the Valley for his work advocating the use of POLST (Physician Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment), which has been proven to lead to medical treatment that more closely represents the wishes and desires of patients near the end-of-life. Dr. Fenton received his B.A. in Biology from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and his M.D. with distinction from The George Washington University School of Medicine, M.D. His professional interests include healthcare reform implementation, disease and violence prevention, and palliative care including the compassionate care of patients near the end-of-life. He enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and two twin sons exploring the hills and valleys of Northern California.
