Elizabeth Davis

Elizabeth Davis is the president of Alkar Human Resources, a certified woman-owned business by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. Liz holds Certified Personnel Consultant and Certified Employment Specialist designations from the State of California. She is a dynamic and experienced businesswoman who has grown the company to what it is today.

Liz Davis’s mother was a nurse at Queen of the Valley; her older brother also worked here; her younger brother, hired by Sister Ann, still does. Davis’s two children and her granddaughter were all born at the Queen. So it’s no surprise that Davis, now a successful businesswoman, has turned out to be one of the medical center’s most industrious volunteers with the annual Day for the Queen benefit festival.

Liz received the Queen of the Valley Foundation Volunteer of the Year Award for Service

Davis herself, a Napa resident since the 1960s who is president of Napa’s Alkar Human Resources, said “I love Queen of the Valley and I love working on the Day for the Queen.” Along with helping raise money, she said, “I’ve met some incredible people and made some really, really good friends.”

But most of all, Davis said, volunteering for the Queen is important because “we’re a small community and it’s the only hospital.

“They support us and we support them,” she continued.

And the Day for the Queen—coming up this year on Aug. 17¬—offers the perfect opportunity to get involved, Davis said.

“You can play tennis, you can golf; there’s a fashion show, a barbecue and it’s a beautiful day,” she said.

“We need to be out there supporting the Queen however we can.”

And, she added, “It’s a wonderful place to spend time and make good friends.”
