Juanita Ramos
Outpatient Surgery & Procedure Patient
“The staff at the OSPC took care of everything. I didn’t have
to worry about a thing. They made sure that all my paperwork was ready
for me when I arrived and then quickly prepared me for surgery. The atmosphere
is calming, not like you’d expect. It’s like you’re
a guest rather than just a patient.”
Juggling life, work and three Pugs can be stressful. There never seems
to be enough hours in the day. So when it came time for Juanita Ramos
to have her knee surgery, she chose Queen of the Valley's Outpatient
Surgery & Procedure Center.
Being told to make time for surgery, in an already busy life, can add unexpected
pressure to a person. That's what happened to Juanita Ramos. Always
being on the go, Juanita didn't pay much attention to the nagging
pain in her right knee. Once the pain had reached the point where she
couldn 't take her dogs for their morning walk she knew she had to
take care of it. A visit to her doctor confirmed what Juanita long believed,
but didn't want to hear- she would have to undergo knee surgery to
relieve the pain.
"I couldn't imagine putting my life on
hold, even
for knee
surgery." Fearing the longer she waited the worse the condition would get, Juanita
decided to go through with the surgery.
Orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Stephen Franzino, assured Juanita that at the Queen's
Outpatient Surgery & Procedure Center (OSPC) she could have her surgery
in the morning and be home, recovering, that same afternoon.
"I didn't have to worry about a thing. The staff at the OSPC was
wonderful. From the moment I arrived they took great care of me. All I
had to do was focus on my recovery."
The OSPC opened its doors in 2007 and was created as a premier medical
site; designed to expand quality out patient health care by focusing
on patient comfort, medica l excellence and state-of-the-art technology.
The stand-alone, 20,000 square-foot, center features separate pre-op and
recovery areas, four operating suites and four procedure rooms.
"The staff at the OSPC made sure
that all my paperwork was ready for me
when I arrived and then quickly prepared me
for
surgery.
The atmosphere is calming, not like you'd expect.
It's like you're
a guest rather than just
a patient."
With little recovery time Juanita was back to her active life.
"My knee feels great, and thanks to my winning team at the OSPC my dogs are
enjoying their morning walks again."
